Life can be really unpredictable, isn’t it?

The past week went in a very unusual manner with Bollywood losing its two legends in a flash. Despite their popularity, only a few people were present on their funeral to pay homage due to the lockdown. I still can’t believe the fact that these two amazing actors will now only be seen in their movies and photographs.

Irrfan Khan, one of the finest actors of the industry, breathed his last on the 29th of April 2020 in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute, Mumbai. He was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour in early 2018. He fought the illness like a true warrior and won the battle briefly. But he was not lucky the second time when the disease struck. He shared an emotional video message excusing him from the promotional campaign of Angrezi Medium, his last work, due to his health issues around that time. He delivered chartbuster hits like Pan Singh Tomar, The Lunchbox and Hindi Medium. Irrfan was an actor of international fame. He worked not just in Hindi films but also in American and British movies.

When the world was already heartbroken due to the tragic death of Irrfan, another sad news came on the next day that actor Rishi Kapoor, father of Ranbir Kapoor, was no more. The versatile actor who mesmerized his audience with his work started his career at an early age and won a national award for the Best Child Actor. Unfortunately, due to the lockdown, his daughter Riddhima Kapoor, who was in Delhi, could not attend the rituals. It must have been difficult for her to digest that her father, whom she chatted with only a day ago through video call and promised to talk to him again the next day, had gone in his deep sleep. He was such a good human being that he entertained his doctors with his great sense of humor even in his last hours!

These two actors par excellence may have gone forever but they will continue to be alive amongst all of us through the characters they have portrayed. They are and will always be a source of inspiration for the whole world. They can never be forgotten for their work and for their cheerful nature.

Now, whenever I think of them, this little question pops in my mind that life is really unpredictable. You can never guess what’s gonna happen the next moment. Perhaps that’s why it is often said that enjoy each and every moment of your life instead of fretting over little things. Always see the good in everything. This is the ultimate way to make your life beautiful. As the famous dialogue of late actor Rajesh Khanna says, “Zindagi lambi nahi, badi honi chahiye”.

#RIPToTheLegends

May their souls rest in peace and my condolences to their families.
