A Trip Down Memory Lane…
So, a few days back, when I was randomly exploring my laptop
after my online class got over, I came across a folder named ‘007’. On opening
it I found a whole lot of files which had my photos as old as from the past
decade. The diminished memories of my early childhood soon got revived in my
mind. So many beautiful memories!
I got a video of my dance performance where I can be seen
jumping here and there on the bed and doing some steps on the song “Sasural
Genda Phool”. I also found some photos from our Mussoorie trip where I was
wearing my most favourite baby pink-colored jacket. The toys that I used to
play with, including all my Barbie dolls, also caught my attention. I found a
photo in which I was dressed up as Durga Maa for my school’s annual function
when I was in the first grade. I got reminded of my old society friends who had
come to my birthday party when I turned six. By looking at the photos of the
‘Grihapravesh’ of our beautiful and new abode in July 2012 (which is no longer
new as we have shifted to another one) I could still feel the excitement that
was in the air at the time and all the preparations that we made for the
unforgettable event. I also came across some Diwali photographs of 2013 and 2014.
I also found a very special photo of mine of my first day at school. I also
remembered one incident where I poured the whole glass of milk which I was
given to drink, behind the sofa. And then I showed my mother an empty glass
indicating that I have finished the milk in less than five minutes. She was
very happy but later found out my mischief and I got two tight slaps from her!
Those times are the best and most valuable times of my life.
I wish I could go back into time, not to change anything but to live each of
the glorious moment twice. Looking at the past refreshes my mind and fills me
with new energy. Thinking about the future is nice but turning the pages of a
dusty album and pondering about what all you’ve done in your yesteryears is
much more nicer.
And when I was reminiscing about all this, all of a sudden,
I looked at the time, it was half past ten! I closed all the files, and quickly
typed the meeting ID and password of my next online class (which was about to
start any minute) and got back to work again…as usual.
