So, amid the “corona ka kahar”, I finally got promoted to
the ninth grade. My final result was nicer than I expected and I certainly
deserved a pizza treat but glancing at the present situation, stepping out of
the house is not at all a wise thing to do.

But, of course, education should not take a backseat at any
cost. So, many schools have started initiating online classes for pupils on the
Zoom meeting app. We attend these lectures at fixed timings and teachers use
presentations and videos available online. We ask our doubts either writing in
the chat section or by asking the teacher to unmute us so that we can ask our
queries. It is really awkward to study in such a manner as I never thought a
day like this will ever come in my life when I have to attend school from home.
I am missing the “school fun” that we had in the eighth standard. Gossiping
with friends in between the classes, shouting as if the whole class had gone
crazy when we got know that it was a substitution period, laughing wholeheartedly when the jokers of the class showed their talent to everyone and we friends looting each others’ lunch boxes during
recess….so many memories! My friends are really insane but I can’t live without
them.

My seniors had really scared me saying that the syllabus of
this grade is very vast and that our percentage will most probably come down.
But, as they say it, smooth seas don’t make skillful sailors. Till now my
experience has been good as the topics taught have been crystal clear. I just
hope this session goes well and I am able to achieve my little goals that I
have in store for this year.
And yes, don’t forget to light a diya or a candle in your
balcony tonight as Modi Ji has appealed to do. Please stay home because our PM
is doing everything he can. Don’t think that roaming outside is an act of
smartness since only a nincompoop can do so.
