“Corona Pyaar hai”

Whether you switch on TV, flip pages of newspapers or just scroll your phone to get the latest updates about the outside world, there is only one thing that can be found - Coronavirus or its scientific term Covid-19. With hashtags like #CoronaVirusOutbreak and #CoronaStopKarona spreading like other kinds of virus on social networking sites and a filmmaker registering movie title Corona  Pyaar  Hai  in the top production house Eros International bring a tangy twist to Hrithik Roshan’s debut movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. So, we can conclude perfectly that Corona has surely become famous, but of course, for the wrong reason.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared it a pandemic, with the virus already affecting more than two lakh people in 136 countries, 223 in India itself (As of 20 March 2020). We need to appreciate the way countries like China and South Korea handled the tense situation. The cities were sanitized and drivers were appointed to deliver food and medicines to the isolated people. Government and central banks around the globe are taking war-like measures to tackle this unprecedented epidemic that has spread like a wildfire.

However, in India, some people are blaming the government for lack of proper facilities. I feel that our government is doing its best to protect us. We have to be cooperative and take necessary precautions. Weird rumors on social media are panicking us more than ever. We should support the call of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the "Janta Curfew" on Sunday and appreciate the "Corona Warriors" by clapping or ringing bells. This curfew will actually act like a circuit breaker against the spread of the virus for 24 hours, supposedly choking it to death.

In a nutshell, I just want to tell you all that please stay calm and be patient. Panicking unnecessarily will have an adverse affect on your mind and body. Stick to the principle of ‘social distancing’ and wait till it all gets over, no matter how long you have to.
